Travel League Information:

Cost to play on a travel team - $325 per player.

The cost of travel this year went up quite a bit, it will be $325 for your child to play in the travel league.  This is in addition to the rec fee you will have to pay when we start the rec program (rec program will tentatively be $165).  It is required that Travel players also play on a rec team.  The reason for the cost increase is because the league we have been playing in, Milford Knights, now has to pay for use of gyms outside of the public schools.  The games for the travel league will now be at one of the following gyms:

 - Parsons Complex, Milford CT

- InSports, Trumbull, CT

- NYA, Newtown, CT

- CSA, New Milford, CT

We wanted to communicate cost and location of the gyms so you can make the best possible decision for your child as to whether or not you want them to try out.  If they make the team, we will be asking for the $325 payment fairly quickly and before the start of the season.

Update as of 9/7/2021:

Hope everyone had a great summer!  It’s that time again to prepare for the North Haven Youth Basketball league; however, the start of the season is To Be Determined as we assess how COVID-19 is impacting schools and gym availability. We are tentatively planning to begin practices in late November.  Over the coming weeks, we will be working closely with the Quinnipiack Valley Health District and the Board of Education and we will follow all established COVID-19 guidelines to safely use our schools and keep our players and families safe at all times.  The current guidelines require that all players and parents wear a mask at all times inside during practices and games, however, it is unclear at this time what the guidelines will be once the season begins.  While the final requirements may be far from ideal, it is very important to understand we need 100% buy-in from all the parents/guardians/players in order for the kids to be on the court and us to have a league.

We are excited to announce that North Haven Youth Basketball registration is now open for the 2021-2022 season. At this time, we will be registering players but not collecting payment until a later date. We will ask for payment at some point as we move forward before the start of practices.  We will keep registration open until end of day on Friday, October 15th. Once you are registered and we begin to collect payment, you must pay by the November 1stdeadline. Failure to do so will result in your child’s name being removed from the registration database.

North Haven Youth Basketball (NHYB)  - Welcome to the 2021-2022 season!

North Haven Youth Basketball is excited to offer both In-Town & Travel basketball programs to all North Haven Boys and Girls grades 1-8 for the 2021-2022 season.

The In-Town teams will be divided into 1st and 2nd graders, 3rd and 4th graders, 5th and 6th graders and 7th and 8th graders. Note: Grades 1-2 will be an instructional based league with games.

The travel program (which is grade-based) will hold tryouts in October (check back at this website where the dates/times of the tryouts will be posted once they are decided). There will be travel teams for both the girls and boys grades 4-8 divisions.

Travel teams will be based on enrollment and approval by the NHYB Board.

The travel teams will participate in the Milford Knights Travel League as well as play other area travel teams. If you try-out and make the travel team, there will be one additional practice during the week and one additional game on the weekend. There may also be the opportunity to participate in post season tournaments.

***** All travel team players must have an active role in our In-Town program*****
